Joey DeFrancesco joins Diversi Musical Instruments
Diversi Musical Instruments is proud to announce that Joey DeFrancesco, world-renowned jazz organist, has joined the Diversi Company as a partner. Mr. DeFrancesco will be joining the existing partners, Tom Tuson and Sonja Lynne, as Diversi launchs its new drawbar organ products.
“We believe that having Joey DeFrancesco as a partner is historical,” states Tom Tuson, President. “I don’t think there has ever been an Organist of Joey’s prominence, let alone any other top level musician, that has been an owner of a musical instrument manufacturer or company.”
Diversi is launching new organ products with its new sound engine, Instrumental Modeling Technology. The new organs and keyboards will be shown at the 2008 Winter NAMM show.
“These organs are incredible!” says Jazz Organist, Joey DeFrancesco. “The first time I heard it I couldn’t believe the authenticity of the sound, and I was really knocked out by the SpectraSound rotary simulation. After playing both the DV-Solo and DV-Duo proto-types, I was so impressed I asked if I could buy into the company. I really feel that these instruments will change how both live performances and recordings are done.”
“Joey will be responsible for product development,” comments Sonja Lynne, Vice President. “Joey will also be working closely with Motion Sound, which has developed the pre-amplification system for our new products. He will also serve as our Musical Ambassador worldwide, not only playing these new organs but conducting clinics and seminars. We are excited to have Joey as part of our Diversi family.”
“Here at Diversi, I will have direct involvement with the people who develop the Diversi products here in the U.S., both at Diversi and Motion Sound. I will also be involved with our sister company KeyB Organ in Italy,” further states Joey DeFrancesco. “Everyone who is connected with these new products at Diversi and KeyB Organ is a musician. This makes it easy to communicate as we all realize that the end result is the sound and functionality that are paramount to a great product. As an example, we use the same sound engine in both the DV-Solo and DV-Duo. Because of this, both models have five on-board vintage tonewheel organ clones to select from. Anyone that plays a vintage tonewheel organ knows each one is a little different. Because of these personality differences, Diversi will be offering custom vintage tonewheel organ cloning, starting around April or May of 2008. For a charge, Diversi will be able to clone someone’s vintage tonewheel console organ. This is a first! If someone has a vintage organ they really love, Diversi can clone that organ and place it into either model of the new Diversi organs. Someone can even have my personal favorite vintage B3 that’s sitting in my home.”
Diversi Musical Instruments has been in existence since 2003. The company manufactures drawbar organs and keyboards in the Philadelphia area. The Diversi Organ can be seen and heard on BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel TV Show, and it is also played by numerous recording artists. For more information, visit www.diversiorgan.com.
